BrandBird review
Twitter has amended its cropping tool, which has been a meta source of many memes over the last couple of years. Twitter’s imaging parameters now allow for more control with both iOs and android users, so perhaps there’s no better time to consider how your brand is showcased on the app. Well our tool of the week is BrandBird from personalised branding experts - MagicPattern. BrandBird is a browser tool designed for you to creatively construct images perfect for Twitter’s platform, whether it’s for branding, or just for fun!
This is a very simple tool so this won’t be a long review, but what’s important to know is that it works well, and there’s enough customising in there to make it worth trying out at least! The service requires no signup, just go to BrandBird’s website and upload the image you want to ‘brandify’. Once your image is uploaded, it will appear in the centre window, you can then begin your edits. Start by scaling your image using their intuitive slide bars within the window to get the ideal size, then customise your border radius. Getting dimensions sorted early means the creative edit should be easier as you already have your ideal size.
Your next port of call in BrandBird is to select whether you want a solid colour background, or a pattern (which comprises two colours). If you fancy being fancy, there are 12 patterns to choose from. Your colour choice is based off of hex colour codes, so this is completely customisable! We chose the vibrant Content OD colours for our tryout naturally. Once you have your ideal pattern, then select your pattern’s size, you will see how this changes behind your image. Once this is done, choose whether you want your image to have shadow, again this is customisable with hex colours and six different sizes of shadow! BrandBird really does give you a lot of creative control. Finally, select if you want your image to have 3D properties, transforming your image on either its X, Y or Z axis, or all three! Once you’re happy, hit ‘Download’ and the image is yours!
We would recommend having a good old play on BrandBird, there’s an awful lot of freedom within the app. Your branding is important to you, and BrandBird knows that, you’ll be on to a winner. Sometimes a standalone image isn’t enough, BrandBird is here to fill that void! There isn’t a great deal to the app compared to other online image editors, but BrandBird is strictly for Twitter so its mission is limited from the get-go, is this a bad thing? Not really, but we would like to see BrandBird explore deeper into the social branding world, maybe for Instagram and others down the line!
All being said, BrandBird, we like it! You get 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼/5!
