Listory review

During the dreary weather, waking up enveloped in darkness; self-care and keeping your mind active is essential. It’s easy to pick up your phone and get lost in a sea of irrelevant content. Wouldn't it be great if content was further refined to the user? Empowering you with content that’s worth your time? That’s where Listory comes in…

Listory is a social channel, wrapped in a magazine’s clothing. You can follow different pages, post your own content on the website, and quickly gain followers. Similar in essence to Stumbleupon, this new platform is chock-full of cultured, interesting and relevant content from across the globe, keeping your brain challenged and stimulated.

To join the service, go to their website and you’re greeted by a calm and classy layout, purple and cream with a font more formal than usually encountered on such sites. Signing up for the service is nice and simple, and once you’re in, you can begin to cultivate the visual representation of your mind’s wants and needs. In keeping with 2020, the service provides a story feature, where you can share your favourite content pieces for 24 hours. You can also browse the website’s curators and find the items you want to follow, all bases covered.

Begin your journey by creating a list, accessed in the top left of the website, this is where you select your interests. As mentioned earlier, it is a kindred spirit to Stumbleupon, however where Listory differs (and in my opinion, succeeds) is it’s layout. Listory houses pages in easy-to-access windows. You can then filter your searches by either ‘interest’, ‘read time’ or ‘content type’ (article/video/podcast/tweet) - it’s all very tidy.

The ‘interests’ filter is so far limited to ‘Tech’, ‘Business & Finance’, ‘News’, ‘Music’, ‘Lifestyle’ and ‘Any’, hopefully this expands as the app develops further. As your journey through Listory continues, you may find it develops into something you cannot do without!

This will be the last tool review before Christmas. We hope you all enjoy some much needed quality time with your loved ones (even if it’s on zoom!) and make sure you eat untold quantities of chocolate. Everybody needs a break during the day, so unwind and enrich yourself, I’m giving Listory a real go, so should you… after all, it’s free!
