Typefully review

You may have read our recent review for What to Tweet, the handy tool that keeps your tweets fresh, engaging and topical. Well this week we have something similar, but more meta! This review is for Typefully by Mailbrew, the tool that formats your tweets so you can get the perfect layout for your single posts or threads before you hit send!

The service is free to use and all you need is your Twitter login and details to access it. Now, although the scope for this app is fairly limited, it does give you additional control of your social posts - particularly for those tweets that you just can’t limit to 280 characters. To use Typefully, simply start typing your intended tweets into the blank centre box and watch your text appear in Tweet form in the window to the right, including the character count and a + button to add another tweet - creating a thread should you need to. And when you want to start a new set of tweets, just click ‘New Draft’ in the top left-hand corner.

As well as building a perfectly formatted tweet or thread, you can also schedule your tweets from Typefully, allowing you to cultivate your entire tweet log in the same place. There’s a settings tab in the top-right of the page where you can log out, change between ‘Light’ and ‘Dark’ mode and show scroll bars on Safari. There is a similar service out there in the aether of the web, called Chirr App, but with more features, such as ‘Enable Numbering’ so your tweets begin with ‘1/’, ‘2/’, ‘3/’ etc. and ‘Split’, the [...] to break up your threads accordingly - they are good features, although I wouldn’t say essential. Typefully’s niche is its simplicity, which I prefer. The layout is cleaner than Chirr App’s and contains only essential information/features; how much do you really need to manage your tweets?

There isn’t a lot to cover with Typefully, it’s a fairly simplistic service with a simple function - to finesse your tweet layout. I would recommend anyone trying it if you’re planning a fairly wordy rant, or you’re sharing a recipe with a bajillion ingredients. So give it a go! If you want something with additional features at the expense of simplicity, by all means try Chirr App, but I think Typefully is the one for me!

So this tool gets a fair 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼/5.
