Remote working is different, there’s no denying that - there are aspects we like, and some we could do without. The advancement in remote business software has helped bridge the gap between normal life and covid life. Wavvy is one such service - the podcast hosting tool that provides an all-in-one hub for your episodes, as well as analytics so you can keep track of their performance! 

Wavvy is a US-based service, but is accessible and usable in the UK. The ethos of Wavvy is ‘podcast hosting made easy’, and this is evident from the get-go. Signing up is free (one considerable factor you needn't worry about.) And once you’re in, you are presented with a pop-up asking you to add your first podcast. It’s very thorough and Wavvy has left no stone unturned when it comes to podcast creation. Add in your title, subtitle, description, language, iTunes category (we like this addition), and cover artwork. There are more optional windows to fill, such as your website, copyright, host name, email address and author. Oh and make sure to ‘tick’ if your episode contains explicit material! Kids could be listening! Once your podcast is created, add your audio file to the episode box and there you have it! Easy peasy. 

The audio files (your actual podcast) are added later, which felt a little non intuitive to us. But this could be explained by the importance of planning and pre-production.

The site’s stylish interface is similar to Spotify, black background with green boxes and white text - by accident or design we do not know but it looks good. It is far less cluttered than the likes of Patreon, but that has more features - such as tiered memberships. When logged in, each episode is placed in chronological order (most recent at the top, naturally) and you are able to edit any previous podcasts from this section. There is a help chat service in the bottom right corner and a navigation button in the top left corner which allows users to flick between episodes, podcasts and websites, (although as of Feb 25, 2021 - this is an empty section). It feels somewhat bare bones at time of writing but we hope the service gets more populated as time goes on. Each podcast you create can be shared across multiple platforms and any uploads you need to make post-creation can be done by clicking the cloud icon on your podcast within the hosting page. It is unclear if your podcasts are broadcasted from here or merely housed here for distribution elsewhere but Wavvy is in its early stages and we hope updates will happen as and when the service grows.

Wavvy is a sleek, intuitive and stylish service for your podcasts, however, more needs to be available before we can get really excited. It feels unfinished and maybe it is? With time, we’re confident Wavvy will be an exciting prospect and potential rival to more established podcast platforms.
