Clarity review
Mental health - a phrase we so often hear these days, but no-one on the outside truly knows what a person can be going through inside their own head. Being a creator in a content-driven world can take its toll, there is a constant stream of media flying around every which way, all available at the push of the button. Standing out from the crowd when the crowd is everybody can be astonishingly challenging, and it’s no surprise that tragedies like mental breakdowns are sadly a common occurrence. Thankfully, there are people out there who want to help, Clarity is a new mental health support service, designed by creators, for creators. Clarity is a network of mental health resources, curated by creatives the world over to hopefully ease people’s suffering.
We are aware this isn’t our usual ‘type’ of app we review, but we know how important people’s mental wellness is, no-one should suffer in silence. There is no need for sign-up, just go to the site and have a look around. In the top right corner are three options, ‘Browse’, ‘Submit a Resource’, and ‘Twitter’. If you’re browsing, there are a list of organisations you can search for which will show you a catalogue of mental health professionals you can contact - Clarity is a US based service, therefore many of these organisations are for US citizens only, but the networking nature of Clarity allows anyone from anyone to provide a resource, whether it’s a more local organisation for you, or a website/interactive service. ‘Browse’ also supplies you with dozens of interviews from famous musicians and creators who have also gone through difficult periods within themselves. Offering words of positivity that might provide a beam of light to you in darker moments.
And perhaps the most tactful of the services Clarity offers, ‘Life hacks’, many of those who suffer from mental health issues describe feelings of uselessness with often the most simple of tasks, or feelings of deep anxiety in common social situations. The life hacks collected should provide those who need them some hopefully useful tips to ease their burdens. We understand that those who are experiencing these horrible illnesses may need more than life hacks to get through, and we urge anyone who is truly struggling to seek professional help, but this might make the days easier when you don’t have access to somebody - especially during the current viral pandemic…
Of course, there is always the option to submit a resource if you know of some worthwhile services, videos, podcasts etc. Clarity is an open forum, and a wonderful community. We are not qualified to judge its merits, but we can appreciate that they just want to help in any way they can, and creators have been truly stifled since the beginning of lockdown, it’s made even the strongest of characters crumble and it is nothing to be ashamed of. Help is out there, and Clarity is a focused, compassionate network to contact if you need to reach out. Additionally, check out Clarity’s twitter page, there is a plethora of additional resources, regularly updated for you to try - you never know, they might just help. ❤️
If any readers have found this to be of use, we’re truly glad we could help.
Clarity, you’re amazing. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼/5.
