Perguidex review
Task management apps are plentiful, and as video and social media agents, we have found ourselves using many different ones over the years to find the best tool for collaboration. However, for many independent workers out there, collaboration isn’t the priority, how you feel when working is. A tool that plans out your day, whilst simultaneously supporting your mental wellbeing is an important gap in the market, especially as remote working becomes more commonplace. Step forward, Perguidex - the task manager that encourages you to assess each working day, allowing you to express your feelings and help find the reasons why your days may be more or less stressful.
Perguidex is completely free and just requires email signup. Its interface is pretty standard for a task management tool and apart from its unusual name, it’s as you’d expect. There are three layouts to choose from, your tasks for the day, the ‘Next 7 Days’, or ‘All Activities’ (this format does not break up the tasks per day, so it can be a little chaotic). This can be managed in the top left-hand corner, we feel the most practical approach would be to use the ‘Next 7 Days’ layout, as you can plan out your week accordingly. When a task is completed, simply tick it off and watch it disappear from your board. On a personal note, we prefer the traditional line through the task to show it is done, as you get more of a visual representation for your efforts. As mentioned, Perguidex’s niche is its concern for your welfare, and under each day’s tasks is a rating system, where you score the quality of your day out of 5, then explain the reasons for your score. Often letting your mind go free can help you get to the route of the issues that make your days tougher than you would want them to be. You might be surprised at how much this can de-stress you.
This neat tool also accompanies your daily tasks with an inspirational/funny quote to keep spirits high as you tackle the jobs at hand. We’ll be honest, we feel like the two aspects of Perguidex don’t marry up perfectly, the wellbeing feature, as sincere as it is, feels a bit like an afterthought with the current layout. The red-on-white interface is pretty basic and gives the impression that task management is the priority. We feel that if you’re going to include a wellness feature, that should be the focus of the whole service. But that’s just our opinion. However, you should definitely try it out, we did find it cathartic delving into the reasons why a day wasn’t perfect.
So all in all, Perguidex, not bad. We just think your appearance and the overall message is lacking.
