Accomplice review
AI. Machine learning. Phrases creeping into our everyday lives more and more. There may be some natural reticence regarding the technological advancements in this field, but there are some amazing strides being made that will change our professional lives forever. If you’re a business owner, developer, or just someone looking for some new artwork, there’s a new [almost] instant way of getting whatever you want, straight to your desktop. Accomplice is an AI-driven image creator, simply type your prompts and watch Accomplice’s machine learning paint you some beautiful imagery!
The first thing we should mention is that Accomplice is not a free service, so if you’re looking for some instant curated content for your business, get your wallet at the ready. Pricing starts at $9.99 for 20 credits (credits = prompts) and goes all the way to $39.99 for 150 credits, these credits allow you to create video thumbnails, marketing emails, social media, posters and flyer creation and much more! It’s a swamp of goodies. However, it is a pity there’s no free trial offer. Creating an account for Accomplice is as straightforward as you’d expect from service as progressive as this. Simply add in an email address and make a password and boom you’re in. Once you have selected what payment package you’re after you can start flexing Accomplice’s machine learning muscles. The interface is very clean; dressed in black, grey and white which is surprising for an app all about creativity, that being said it’s easy and intuitive to navigate.
When creating, you’ll be greeted by an animated graphic floating in the middle of your screen with a button beneath stating ‘Create Prompt’ - this is where the magic happens. Accomplice will take the words you use, search its databanks and create a host of designs based on your prompts, it’s incredible to watch. Add more and more words to your prompt and see how Accomplice adapts and alters your images depending on how it interprets your text choices. There really isn’t much more to it, just type then watch Accomplice do its thing. Down the left-hand side of your account dashboard are your account’s features. You can archive images, favourite them and follow other accomplices which we think is a nifty addition. AI Social Media? Who’d have thunk it? In the settings option, you can alter your credit limit, your payment details and personal info… standard stuff.
Accomplice is most certainly an exciting app, how necessary it is in the current digital world remains to be seen. We really like it, and will definitely be using it for some unique content. It’s an approach to image creation we haven’t seen before and we like Accomplice’s aesthetic, for a machine reacting to prompts, its style is very organic. Just a shame about the pricing. That being said, machine learning has come a long way even in the last few years, and this is another exciting step in the AI journey.
